On the afternoon of June 7, a delegation from the University of Seville led by Julián Martínez, Vice-Rector for Research, visited ShanghaiTech University. Other two delegation members included José M. de la Rosa, IEEE Fellow and Director of the International Projects’ General Office, and Plácido González Martínez, Distinguished Research Fellow, School of Architecture.
At the meeting, Vice President Jiang Ge extended a warm welcome to the delegation. Nie Yan, Deputy Director of OIA, presented an overview of ShanghaiTech, underscoring its emphasis on student cultivation and internationalization. José M. de la Rosa provided a brief introduction to the University of Seville, including its diverse offering in English-taught programs. After that, both institutions discussed potential opportunities of student exchange and research collaboration. Professors from the School of Information Science and Technology (SIST), the School of Physical Science and Technology (SPST), and representatives of the Office of International Affairs (OIA) and the Office of Research attended the meeting.
Before the meeting, the Seville delegation toured the laboratories led by Prof. Ha Yajun in SIST and Prof. Zhang Yuebiao in SPST, and was deelpy impressed by their cutting-edge research and fruitful technology transfer achievements.
